![]() Doing something for others will always make you feel good. You may think that you’re just one person and can’t do much to help, but this little moment at this restaurant showed me that every little bit counts. Helping others truly makes a difference in one’s happiness and self-worth. – it was a beautiful thing to watch so much positivity in one place. In such strange times, where most people are feeling anxious, depressed, worry, etc. It was really amazing to see how excited the staff got to not only prepare the food, but especially to give it to the people that are bringing it to the healthcare workers on the front lines. It’s really incredible that these restaurants are struggling themselves, but still are willing to donate food to those that are in need. Support + Feed got there a few minutes later and it was time to load up the car to bring the food! Irma pumped up her coworkers and they finished at 1:00pm on the dot. It was an assembly line of vegan goodness and I loved every second of it. I got there at 12:30, and within 30 minutes, the crew filled 3 boxes full of burgers with hyper speed. I stopped by to watch the amazingness that is the crew at the Long Beach location & my mind was BLOWN. to first responders & other groups of people in need. For information on Plant Powered Consulting, click here.I drove up to Long Beach on Thursday to document the massive amount of donation food being prepped at Plant Power Fast Food through Support and Feed!Įach week, Plant Power is able to donate meals & kombucha/coffee/etc. Subscribe on iTunes and Youtube, and sign up for the newsletter. Never miss the Plantbased Business Hour or Minute. We were excited that for eleven bucks you can get a burger and a fries and a soda, but now we’re coming down a bit in the effort to expose more and more people to this new plant-based fast food option and it will be a little closer to fast food pricing. I want somebody out there to go, “Hey! I can go into the McDonald’s and for seven or eight bucks I can have a meal.” That’s not something we were able to do before. To do that, we need to move towards price parity. ![]() So, we’re thrilled and here’s why: we want to expose more and more people to this plant-based choice, to this plant-based opportunity. And then, for our low-cost burgers, we’re doing the same size patty as you would find at a McDonald’s or Jack In The Box. For us, what that means is for our premiere burgers, our more expensive burgers, we can actually offer a full quarter-pound patty now which we’re really excited about. Because of efficiencies of purchasing and growing and because of a new strategic relationship with a co-packer and a development partner, we’ve actually been able to get our pricing better than we ever have before. I mean, when you go there, they have their premium stuff as well. It seems like if I watch commercials like you can go to Jack In The Box and get three burgers, five tacos, a shake, fries, and a pie for 99 cents. And that’s just where we’ve been because the economies of scale have not allowed us to do what the big boys have done yet.Īnd, of course, there’s a lot of fluff with the traditional fast food. You know, one of the criticisms that we’ll sometimes receive from people is “I can go to McDonald’s, Jack In The Box, or Burger King and get cheaper food and your food is more expensive.” I think there is a lot of legitimacy in that criticism, right? Plant-based fast food companies like ours have been priced between traditional fast food and what I would describe as fast casual which is more expensive. We have announced a $4.95 hamburger and a $5.95 cheeseburger and that’s something that we’ve wanted to do forever. Jeffrey Harris: We do, and it’s been challenging to get there. It’s always good to be here with you on your show, I love it.Įlysabeth: You mentioned you guys are going after price and the price conscious consumer, and I think you have some big news for us. Jeffrey Harris: Elysabeth, it’s great to see you and hello everybody. The folks behind this truck believe in the power. Please welcome Jeffrey Harris to the Plantbased Business Hour. Fast food should not be synonymous with junk food, at least not according to the team at Power Plant Fast Food. He is a long time friend and also the CEO of Plant Power Fast Food. Elysabeth: I want to bring on my guest today.
